FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my insurer’s approval to use Bertolucci’s?

No. In California you choose your repair shop, and your insurance company can’t require you to use a particular one. Tell your insurer you want Bertolucci’s to do the repair. Your insurer still reviews and approves the repair estimate, and we work with them directly on it. Your right to choose.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

Repair times vary from vehicle to vehicle. Generally, an estimate is written and parts are ordered before your vehicle arrives at the shop. Upon drop-off, vehicles with parts and insurance clearance are started as soon as possible.

Disassembly will show any unseen damage. This “hidden” damage is handled as a supplement: the insurance company and owner are contacted for approval before work begins. After the body work is completed, painting begins, followed by reassembly and, if necessary, road testing. Finally, the vehicle is cleaned and detailed in-house before it is returned to its owner.

Do you use factory parts?

For our certified repairs we follow the manufacturer’s repair procedures and use the parts they require, such as Genuine Subaru Collision Parts on Subaru repairs. On insurance repairs, the type of parts can also depend on your policy. We’ll show you which parts are on your estimate and answer any questions. Used parts or parts you supply aren’t covered by our warranty.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. Bertolucci’s guarantees the body work for as long as you own the vehicle. Paint is depreciated by 10% each year after the date of the work. Our AAA (CSAA) direct repair work is also guaranteed by AAA. Read the Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Do you provide a rental car while my vehicle is being repaired?

We will be very happy to assist you in finding a rental car while your vehicle is under repair. We have special arrangements with Enterprise and Hertz. We do not operate a “loaner” vehicle or pay for your rental car.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes. We accept walk-ins for estimates Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. You can also schedule an estimate or send us photos first.
